About Horizon Peak Consulting
Jessica Mehring and her team combine customer-focused content strategy with conversion content writing to help enterprise technology companies turn content into revenue.
When you read content designed for robots, how does that feel to you? If you’re like most people, it probably feels a bit … off.
That’s because you’re not connecting to it on a human level. You weren’t meant to. It wasn’t written for you — it was written for an algorithm.
More than half of B2B buyers view multiple pieces of content before making a purchasing decision. Imagine if your company’s marketing content were written to them.
- It would improve the customer experience.
- It would convert better.
- It would elevate your brand in your customers’ eyes.
We believe that your content should serve your customers first and foremost.

If your company puts the customer relationship first, you’re in the right place.
Your customers are the most important people to us, too.
Jessica Mehring’s consulting and writing methodologies are purpose-built to help your technology company create a better customer experience through content marketing and sales enablement assets.
No matter how complex your offering is — no matter how busy your target audience is — if you meet your customers where they are with content that truly helps them, you’ll be miles ahead of your competitors.
It’s getting harder to earn the trust of your target audience. Don’t risk losing that hard-won relationship on content that reads like a bot wrote it.
Hi, I’m Jessica Mehring
CEO, principal consultant, and senior conversion content writer
I started my career writing copy at a top creative agency and one of the biggest enterprise technology corporations in the world. Decades into the marketing arena, now, I am the CEO of this small consulting firm, a multi-published author, a speaker, and a university lecturer.
I am relentless about improving my skills as a writer and consultant, and keeping up with the trends and ever-growing research behind successful communication.
My bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Colorado at Boulder comes in handy as I discover where my technology clients are coming from, evaluate where they are today, and help them plan for where they need to go in this fast-changing marketplace.
And my master’s degree in communication from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs has enabled me to foster innovation, methodical research, and unshakable integrity within our team and our clients’ marketing programs.
I live on a mountain in Colorado Springs with my family, and spend my time reading, writing, walking in nature, and chasing deer out of my yard.

Surprising fact about Jessica:
I am a reformed jargon-hater. I was always taught that jargon was the mark of a weak writer, and that all it does is create a barrier between the business and its target audience. What I have discovered over my lengthy writing career, however, is that jargon has its place. When used in the right way, it can create an “insider vocabulary” that builds community around a business’s mission. BUT! It must be used judiciously, intentionally and very, very thoughtfully to be successful in this way.
The Story Behind the Horizon Peak Name
We all start out in business at the base of the mountain, looking up at the peak and wondering how we’ll ever get there.
We persevere.
We climb that mountain.
Pretty soon we’re standing on that peak, looking out at the horizon.
But we’re not done yet.
When you love what you do, reaching the top of that first peak is only the beginning.
I love working with businesses and organizations that are gearing up for their next climb.
